As an avid Call Of Duty Fan from way back when you could count the titles on one hand, I've been skeptical as to the latest installment of the franchise - Call of Duty : Black Ops. In my experience Treyarch hasn't been up to par when it came to their titles in the series, so as Black Ops' creator I had a feeling it would just be a rip off of a lot of what Infinity Ward pioneered in the series, and the graphics would be a step back. And although the former does seem to be more evident with this latest teaser, the latter doesn't seem to be coming to fruition; which is good.
The teaser shows the Multiplayer side of Black Ops, and lets be honest this is where any COD game rises or falls. And here has where previously Treyarch have fallen, I mean how many people still play World at War? I haven't even installed it again and yet have both Modern Warfare and MW2 ready and willing to be played. However it would appear that Black Ops features a number of key inclusions from the MW2 Multiplayer, as well as some new innovations to keep in line with the whole Black Ops theme of the game. At the very end there's a very cool in-game recorder that looks like a mix between Fraps and BattleRecorder from the Battlefield franchise.

Toni (cyx) Daniloski, one of the worlds best cyberathletes playing for mousesports, has tragically died after complications from a car accident yesterday in Frankfurt, Germany.
As stated by Mousesports:
"Toni had a car accident on his way back from Frankfurt airport and passed away of the consequences on July 29th, 2010 in the age of 20.
Starting point was a missed flight from Frankfurt to Shanghai (China), which our entire Counter-Strike 1.6 team was suspected to take. Unfortunately, Antonio "cyx" Daniloski missed the flight and received another flight on Thursday morning.
On his way back from the airport, he had a car accident due to a tire failure and passed away of the consequences."
Our thoughts are with his family during this difficult time. Mousesports has cancelled their presence at Intel Extreme Masters Global Challenge Shanghai of which they were travelling to compete in at the time.
You will be missed Toni.

Well its that time of year again, iPhone midnight launch time. All the major carriers have their PR people working overtime to get people in.
A Telstra Spokesmen said "We’ve got an action-packed night planned and we can’t wait to get the party started. From tasty apple treats prepared by the contestants to high-energy cook-offs, this is one launch party you won’t want to miss.”
"We're celebrating the arrival of the new Apple iPhone 4 with fantastic VIP launch events," Optus said in its email to customers. "Selected stores will be opening from midnight on 29 July 2010 (we do mean 11:59pm plus one minute on Thursday) for your chance to get your hands on the new Apple iPhone 4 before everyone else."
For those of you thinking of going to the midnight launch at the Telstra Lifestyle Center Melbourne, here is some insider information. They have only 11 units, 5 of which are already reserved for VIP clients.
Vodafone and 3 rather than make customers queue up in the cold, the flagship 3 and Vodafone Store on George street in Sydney will open at 10pm, when customers can register to buy the new phone.
Each customer who registers will be given a number and then escorted to the Ivy hotel, where they can enjoy a private party with food, drinks and entertainment.
At midnight, VHA will start calling out the numbers chronologically, and customers will be returned to the Voda store where they can complete their iPhone 4 purchase.
So tell me, are you planning on going to a midnight launch?

Media Heavyweights flocked into the Australian Center for the Moving Image (ACMI) in Melbourne today for X|Media|Lab's Pro-Day Conference, Film X-tended. With X|Media|Lab events being held all over the world, this one explored what "digital can bring to a feature film, with a focus on 'transmedia': the use of digital platforms to extend narrative and build interactive content around a linear property." Such content includes everything from novels to website to our favourite, games.The speaker lineup was impressive and every last ticket had been sold.
